Mortgage Company Wont Help Until Past Due

As much as it aggravates homeowners, a mortgage company usually wont help until the mortgage payment is past due. Usually a homeowner will try to contact the mortgage company to try to negotiate the mortgage payments, ask for help, and ask for options. However, usually the homeowner will face so many obstacles in trying to get in touch with the right people in the mortgage company. Most of the time the homeowner will get someone who would just insist that there is nothing to be done to help him or her with the mortgage payment.

Then the mortgage is past due..

When the homeowner has tried everything and cannot afford the mortgage payment, the mortgage is past due. Then the mortgage company will try to contact the homeowner, first to offer options or threat of penalties. However, at this point, the homeowner would be so worried and devastated that he or she would prefer to not discuss any options with the mortgage company or the homeowner would think that there is no good solution for him or her.

However, as the homeowner missed more mortgage payments, someone higher up in the mortgage company would try to contact the homeowner offering solutions. Unfortunately at this point, the homeowner is too deeply depressed to negotiate with the bank or too broke to come up with any mortgage payments.
